Easy Banana Dessert (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cobbler Batter

01 - 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter
02 - 2 cups whole milk
03 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
04 - 1 cup granulated sugar
05 - 1 cup packed light brown sugar
06 - 4 teaspoons baking powder
07 - 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
08 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

→ Banana Filling

09 - 4 overripe bananas, cut into slices
10 - 1 cup roughly chopped walnuts

→ Cream Cheese Swirl

11 - 8 ounces softened cream cheese
12 - 1 large egg, room temperature
13 - 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
14 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Start by heating your oven to 400°F. Grab a 9x13-inch baking dish and give it a good coating of non-stick spray. Pour the melted butter directly into the bottom and spread it around evenly.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk, flour, both sugars, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Whisk everything together until you have a smooth, lump-free batter.
03 - Gently pour your batter mixture over the melted butter in the baking dish. Don't stir it - just let it settle naturally over the butter.
04 - Scatter the sliced bananas and chopped walnuts evenly across the top of the batter. They'll sink in a bit as it bakes, which is exactly what you want.
05 - Pop the cream cheese in the microwave for about 30 seconds until it's soft and warm. Mix in the egg, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until everything is well combined and creamy.
06 - Using a spoon, drop small dollops of the cream cheese mixture randomly across the cobbler. Don't worry about making it perfect - those pockets will create delicious creamy surprises throughout.
07 - Slide the dish into your preheated oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes. You'll know it's ready when the top turns a beautiful golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
08 - Let the cobbler cool for about 10 minutes before serving. It's amazing on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top while it's still warm.

# Notes:

01 - This dessert is best enjoyed warm, straight from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
02 - You can substitute pecans for walnuts if you prefer, or leave out the nuts entirely for a nut-free version.
03 - Make sure your bananas are very ripe with lots of brown spots - they'll be sweeter and add more flavor to the cobbler.
