Classic Banana Bread (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Wet Ingredients

01 - 2 cups mashed very ripe banana (about 4 large)
02 - ½ cup cane sugar or brown sugar
03 - ½ cup melted butter or vegetable oil
04 - 2 large eggs
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Dry Ingredients

06 - 1½ cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
07 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
08 - ½ teaspoon sea salt
09 - ½ teaspoon cinnamon
10 - ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

→ Mix-ins & Toppings

11 - ½ cup chopped walnuts, plus 2 tablespoons for topping

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8x4 or 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or oil.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed banana, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
03 - In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
04 - Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the ½ cup walnuts.
05 - Pour the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle the remaining 2 tablespoons walnuts on top. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean and the top springs back when lightly touched. If the top gets too brown after about 40 minutes, cover it with foil for the remaining bake time.
