Quick Cinnamon French Toast Bites (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 6 slices slightly stale bread
02 - 2 large eggs
03 - 1/4 cup milk
04 - 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
05 - A pinch of salt

→ Coating & Serving

06 - 1/4 cup white sugar
07 - 3 tablespoons butter, divided
08 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup for serving (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Slice each piece of bread into 8 even cubes (you'll have 48 small cubes total).
02 - Mix the white sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl until they're well combined.
03 - In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and salt until smooth.
04 - Melt half of the butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Be careful not to let the butter brown.
05 - Dip half of your bread cubes in the egg mixture, letting any excess drip off. Place them in the hot pan and cook for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally until all sides are golden brown.
06 - As soon as the cubes are cooked, transfer them to the cinnamon-sugar mixture and toss to coat all sides. Move them to a serving plate.
07 - Repeat the process with the remaining butter and bread cubes.
08 - Enjoy while warm, with maple syrup for dipping if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Stale bread works best as it absorbs the egg mixture better and holds its shape during cooking.
02 - If using fresh bread, toast it in the oven for 10-15 minutes first, or cut into cubes and leave in a dry container overnight.
03 - Cook on medium-low heat to ensure the centers cook through without burning the outsides.
