Set a large skillet on the stove over medium heat and let it warm up while you prepare everything else.

Crack the eggs into a large mixing bowl and whisk them well. Add the milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt, then whisk everything together until smooth and completely blended.

Add a generous tablespoon or two of butter to your heated skillet and let it melt completely, swirling to coat the bottom.

Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, letting it soak for just a few seconds on each side. Don't oversoak or it'll get mushy. Place the soaked bread in the buttered pan and cook for about 2 minutes until the bottom turns golden brown.

Carefully flip each slice over and cook the other side until it's beautifully golden. Serve immediately while hot with extra butter and a generous drizzle of warm maple syrup.
