Crispy Cheesy Wonton Bites (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Wonton Cups

01 - 24 wonton wrappers
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil for brushing

→ For the Creamy Filling

03 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
04 - 1 cup freshly shredded cheddar cheese
05 - ½ cup crispy bacon bits
06 - ¼ cup finely diced jalapeños
07 - 2 tablespoons thinly sliced green onions
08 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder

# Instructions:

01 - Start by heating your oven to 375°F. Give a standard muffin pan a good coating with non-stick cooking spray so your wonton cups won't stick.
02 - Lightly brush olive oil on one side of each wonton wrapper. Nestle two wrappers into each muffin cup with the oiled sides facing up, creating a little cup shape.
03 - Pop the pan in the oven and bake for about 5 minutes, just until the wontons start getting a light golden color around the edges.
04 - While those are baking, grab a medium bowl and combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, bacon bits, chopped jalapeños, green onions, and garlic powder. Mix everything together until it's nice and creamy.
05 - Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the cheesy filling into each partially-baked wonton cup, spreading it evenly.
06 - Return the filled cups to the oven and bake for another 8 to 10 minutes until they're beautifully golden and the cheese is bubbly.
07 - Top each cup with a fresh jalapeño slice or a sprinkle of green onions before serving warm.

# Notes:

01 - These are at their absolute best when served fresh and warm, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Just know they'll lose some of that satisfying crunch.
02 - Look for wonton wrappers in the refrigerated section of your grocery store, usually near the tofu and Asian ingredients.
03 - Using two wrappers per cup gives you extra structure and a crunchier texture, but one wrapper works if you prefer a lighter version.
04 - Make absolutely sure your cream cheese is fully softened before mixing—this helps everything blend together smoothly without lumps.
05 - Want to lighten things up? Swap out half the cream cheese with light sour cream or Greek yogurt.
06 - Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like Colby Jack, pepper Jack, or even a blend of your favorites instead of cheddar.
07 - Freshly grated cheese melts more smoothly than the pre-shredded kind, but either will work perfectly fine here.
08 - The garlic powder is optional—skip it if you're not a fan or want to let the other flavors shine more.
09 - Control the heat level by keeping the jalapeño seeds for extra spice, or removing them completely for a milder bite.
