Patriotic Holiday Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cookie Base

01 - 2 fresh large eggs
02 - 1 package white cake mix
03 - ⅓ cup melted butter or vegetable oil
04 - 2 teaspoons whole milk

→ Patriotic Mix-ins

05 - 1 cup white chocolate chips
06 - ¼ cup festive red, white and blue sprinkles
07 - Red, white and blue M&M candies for topping

# Instructions:

01 - Start by heating your oven to 350°F so it's nice and toasty when you're ready to bake.
02 - Crack those eggs into a big mixing bowl and give them a gentle beat with your hand mixer until they're well combined.
03 - Toss in your cake mix, melted butter, and milk, then mix everything together until you've got a nice cohesive dough.
04 - Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of dough and drop them onto your baking sheet, making sure to leave about 2 inches of space between each cookie so they have room to spread.
05 - Pop them in the oven for 10-12 minutes, watching for the edges to become firm and the tops to develop those lovely little cracks that show they're done.
06 - As soon as they come out of the oven, gently press 3 or 4 M&Ms onto the top of each warm cookie, then let them cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

# Notes:

01 - The cookie dough can be a bit sticky to work with, so lining your baking sheets with parchment paper, foil, or silicone mats will make cleanup a breeze.
02 - If your kitchen is particularly warm and the dough feels too soft to handle, just pop it in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to firm up.
03 - Resist the urge to flatten the dough balls before baking - leaving them as little mounds will give you perfectly thick, chewy cookies instead of thin, crispy ones.
