Easy Kielbasa Rice Dinner (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb smoked kielbasa sausage
02 - 2 cups quick-cooking rice
03 - 1 cup frozen green peas
04 - 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
05 - 1 tsp dried minced onion flakes
06 - ½ tsp sea salt
07 - ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
08 - ½ tsp garlic powder
09 - ½ tsp sweet paprika
10 - 2 cups water

# Instructions:

01 - Cut the kielbasa into round slices, each about half an inch thick for even cooking.
02 - Heat your skillet over medium heat and cook the sausage slices until they're nicely browned on both sides.
03 - Toss in all the remaining ingredients - rice, peas, mustard, seasonings, and water. Give it a good stir to combine everything evenly, then bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
04 - Turn the heat down to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer gently. Stir occasionally and cook until the rice becomes tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.

# Notes:

01 - For extra richness, stir in a pat of butter at the end, or sprinkle some shredded cheese on top for a cheesy twist.
02 - Feel free to swap in turkey sausage, chicken sausage, or any other pre-cooked sausage variety you prefer.
03 - Depending on your pan type, you might need to add a splash of oil when browning the sausage to prevent sticking.
