Sweet maple pecan dates (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Stuffed Dates

01 - 24 plump Medjool dates, pitted and sliced lengthwise
02 - 6 ounces creamy mascarpone cheese, at room temperature
03 - 1/4 cup fresh pecans, finely chopped
04 - 2 tablespoons rich Grade A Dark Amber maple syrup

# Instructions:

01 - Position your oven rack at the top level and preheat the broiler to high.
02 - Make a lengthwise cut in each date to remove the pit, creating a perfect pocket for the filling. Set aside on your workstation.
03 - Using a small spoon, fill each date cavity with a generous dollop of mascarpone cheese. Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the stuffed dates.
04 - Arrange the stuffed dates on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Drizzle the maple syrup over each date, allowing it to coat the tops.
05 - Place the baking sheet under the broiler for about 3 minutes until the tops turn lightly golden. Watch them carefully! They can burn quickly under the intense heat.
06 - Allow the dates to cool slightly before serving. They're delicious warm or at room temperature. Any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
