Crispy Roasted Turkey Legs (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 large turkey drumsticks
02 - 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
03 - 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped

→ Seasoning Blend

04 - 1 teaspoon kosher salt
05 - 2 teaspoons sweet paprika
06 - 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
07 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
08 - 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
09 - 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
10 - ½ teaspoon ground sage
11 - ½ teaspoon dried oregano
12 - ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
13 - ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (add to taste)

# Instructions:

01 - Take the turkey legs out of the refrigerator about 15 minutes before cooking to bring them closer to room temperature. Heat your oven to 400°F and line a deep roasting pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
02 - Use paper towels to thoroughly pat the drumsticks dry, removing any excess moisture from the surface. This step helps ensure crispy skin during roasting.
03 - Combine all the dry seasonings in a small mixing bowl - salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, dried rosemary, sage, oregano, black pepper, and cayenne if using. Mix well to create an aromatic spice blend.
04 - Coat both sides of each drumstick generously with olive oil using a pastry brush or your hands. Then massage the spice mixture all over the turkey legs, making sure to cover every surface. Place them in your prepared roasting pan and scatter the fresh chopped rosemary on top.
05 - Place the pan in the preheated oven and roast for 60-70 minutes. Start checking the internal temperature after an hour using a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the meat. When it reads 165°F and the juices run clear, your turkey is done. If needed, continue cooking in 10-minute intervals until you reach the proper temperature.
06 - Remove from the oven and let the turkey legs rest in the pan for about 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, ensuring moist and flavorful results.

# Notes:

01 - Feel free to customize the spice blend with your favorite herbs and seasonings for a personal touch.
02 - Cooking time can vary based on the size of your turkey legs, your specific oven, and the type of baking dish used.
03 - While two legs can feed 3-4 people, consider preparing one leg per person when entertaining guests for more generous portions.
04 - Leftover meat works wonderfully in sandwiches, hearty soups, or pasta dishes throughout the week.
05 - Cooked turkey meat can be frozen for up to 3 months when properly stored in airtight containers.
