Salted Caramel Puppy Chow (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 8 oz milk chocolate chips (about 1⅓ cups)
02 - 1 jar (11.5 oz) salted caramel ice cream topping
03 - 1 large box (18 oz) corn Chex cereal
04 - 1-2 cups confectioner's sugar for coating

→ Optional Extras

05 - ½ cup caramel-filled chocolate morsels for extra indulgence

# Instructions:

01 - Place your chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat them in 30-second intervals, stirring between each round until completely smooth and melted. Be careful not to overheat - you want it warm, not scorching hot.
02 - Heat your caramel topping in the microwave for about 45-60 seconds until it's nice and pourable. Mix this warm caramel right into your melted chocolate until you have a gorgeous caramel-chocolate coating.
03 - Pour your entire box of Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl, then drizzle that beautiful caramel-chocolate mixture all over it. Stir everything together until every single piece of cereal is completely covered in that sweet coating.
04 - Divide your coated cereal between two large zip-top bags and add half the powdered sugar to each bag. Seal them up tight and shake like crazy until every piece is covered in a snowy white coating. Pour everything into a big serving bowl and toss in those extra caramel-filled chocolate pieces if you're feeling fancy.

# Notes:

01 - This irresistible snack mix keeps perfectly in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks - if it lasts that long!
02 - Feel free to swap in dark chocolate or semi-sweet chips if you prefer a less sweet base.
03 - Any brand of salted caramel sauce will work beautifully in this recipe.
04 - The key is not overheating your chocolate and caramel - too hot and you'll end up with a burnt taste and melted cereal mess.
