Start by washing and slicing your strawberries into beautiful thin pieces - you want them delicate enough to layer nicely. Take your fresh basil and stack the leaves, then roll them up and slice into pretty ribbons. Set everything aside on a clean cutting board.

Pop your sourdough slices into a toaster oven or regular toaster on medium heat. You're looking for that perfect golden color where the bread is crispy on the outside but still has a little give when you press it. Once it's done, let it cool for just a minute, then generously spread about 1-2 tablespoons of that creamy goat cheese on each slice.

Now comes the fun part! Arrange those gorgeous strawberry slices on top of the goat cheese, then scatter the basil ribbons over everything. Finish with a light drizzle of balsamic vinegar - don't go crazy, just enough to add that tangy sweetness. Cut into smaller pieces if you're serving as appetizers.
