Easy Banana Bread Muffins (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 4 very ripe bananas, preferably with brown spots all over
02 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
03 - 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
04 - 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter, cooled slightly
05 - 1 large egg, lightly whisked
06 - 1/2 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
07 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
08 - 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

→ Optional Mix-ins

09 - 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
10 - 1/2 cup roughly chopped walnuts

# Instructions:

01 - Heat your oven to 375°F and line a standard 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners. This keeps everything neat and makes removal super easy.
02 - Peel your super-ripe bananas and mash them in a large mixing bowl until they're nice and smooth. Stir in your beaten egg, cooled melted butter, and vanilla until everything comes together nicely.
03 - In another bowl, whisk together your flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt until there are no lumps and everything looks evenly combined.
04 - Pour the dry mixture into your banana mixture and gently fold everything together until just combined - don't overmix! If you're using chocolate chips or walnuts, fold those in now too.
05 - Divide the batter evenly among your muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full. Pop them in the oven for 15-21 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with just a few moist crumbs clinging to it.
06 - Let the muffins rest in the pan for about 5 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack. Or if you can't wait, grab one while it's still warm - they're absolutely divine that way!

# Notes:

01 - The riper your bananas, the better! Look for ones with lots of brown spots - they're sweeter and easier to mash into a smooth puree.
02 - Be precise with your dry ingredients - too much flour can make your muffins dense and heavy.
03 - Keep your mix-ins to about 1 cup total if you want the perfect balance of flavors and textures.
