Easy Homemade Waffles (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 2¼ cups all-purpose flour (270g)
02 - ¼ cup granulated sugar (50g)
03 - 1 tablespoon baking powder
04 - ¾ teaspoon salt

→ Wet Ingredients

05 - 2 cups milk (480ml)
06 - ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (113g)
07 - 2 large eggs
08 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your waffle iron to a high heat setting for extra crispy results. The iron should be nice and hot before you start cooking.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir just until everything comes together. Don't worry about a few lumps - they're actually good for fluffy waffles!
03 - Lightly grease your hot waffle iron with butter or cooking spray. Pour about 1/3 cup of batter onto the iron (adjust based on your waffle maker size). Close the lid and cook until the waffle is golden brown and crisp around the edges.
04 - Place finished waffles on a wire rack instead of stacking them on a plate. This allows air to circulate and keeps them perfectly crisp while you finish cooking the batch.
05 - Serve hot with a pat of butter, warm maple syrup, fresh berries, or whatever toppings make you happy!

# Notes:

01 - For extra fluffy waffles, use room temperature eggs if possible, though cold eggs will still work fine.
02 - Between each waffle, give your iron at least 30 seconds to reheat completely - a super hot iron is the secret to crispy exteriors.
03 - You can keep waffles warm in a 200°F oven on a wire rack while you finish cooking the batch.
04 - The batter might look a bit lumpy, and that's perfectly fine! Those small lumps help create a lighter texture.
