01 -
Heat your oven to 350°F and get a 9x9 inch baking pan ready by greasing it well. Line it with parchment paper, letting some hang over the edges so you can easily lift the brownies out later.
02 -
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-high heat until it's completely liquid and starts to bubble gently. While the butter is still hot, stir in both sugars until they're well moistened and combined.
03 -
Pour the warm butter mixture into a large mixing bowl. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, red food coloring, and vinegar, then whisk everything together until smooth and well blended.
04 -
Sprinkle the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda over the wet mixture. Gently fold everything together until just combined - don't overmix or your brownies might become tough.
05 -
Spread the rich red batter evenly in your prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes in the center of your oven, until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out with just a few moist crumbs clinging to it.
06 -
Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then use the parchment paper to lift them onto a wire rack. Allow them to cool enough to handle before cutting into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
